Quinoa was a staple food of the Incas, who called it ‘mother grain’ because it was so nutritious. It is often called a grain but is really a seed. Gluten-free quinoa contains all 8 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. It is a good source of fibre, phosphorous, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc and B vitamins. Quinoa supports healthy bowel movement and balanced cholesterol levels.
