Nutrient - More evidence of olive leaf's immune-strengthening properties

Evidence from Japanese research has shown that d-lenolate, a natural component extracted from olive leaves, is effective against microbial infections. 

The first line of defence against microbial infection is a special class of immune cells, called phagocytes. These defence cells literally move through the body engulfing and digesting infectious agents, in a process called ‘clearing’. If this happens efficiently enough then the infection never properly manifests. 

Interestingly, scientists in Japan have found out that d-lenolate from olive leaves is highly effective in stimulating phagocytic cells, increasing their ability to remove infectious agents from the body. This seems to come about because d-lenolate increases the production of an immune system messaging chemical called interleukin-1. Interleukin-1 is important for fighting the initial stages of any infection, as well as being important for immune system recovery.  

In fact, some of the results of the study suggest that d-lenolate may be particularly useful at helping those with compromised immune systems to recover, particularly since d-lenolate has been shown to be more effective and safer than other known immune system stimulants.
