B. longum is the dominant bacterium in the gut lining. It is one of the first bacterium to colonise newborn babies’ digestive systems, especially in breast-fed babies. It supports balanced gut flora by inhibiting unfriendly bacteria, pathogens and yeast. It supports healthy immunity and helps break-down plant foods and eliminate toxins from the gut. B. longum may be helpful during and after antibiotics. B. longum is also known as B. lactis.
